When I look at you I see, the other, hidden parts of me. That lay enclosed from feelings past, I hid behind a frozen mask. That kept a world of harm at bay, from love and warmth I pushed away. You tore down walls, strong as you are, you held me up to touch the stars! You reached so deep, exposed the pain. Then stepped aside, avoiding gain. You give your all, with me you share your calming warmth and gentle care. You don't give up when I am blue just softly whisper, "I love you." What have I done to gain a friend who'll stick with me right to the end. Who'll carry me through good and bad, though at times, I've made you sad. I often forget, it's not just me, two together, we should be. Respect and honor that I do. Great love and passion I hold for you.
